Questions about Scitec Lactase Enzymes 100 capsule

How many FCC units does one Scitec Lactase Enzyme capsule contain, and for what quantity of milk is one capsule typically sufficient?

One Scitec Lactase Enzyme capsule contains 5,000 FCC (Food Chemical Codex) units of lactase enzyme.
One capsule is generally sufficient for digesting 20–26 grams of lactose. This amount of lactose is found in approximately 400 ml of whole milk. For individuals with severe lactose intolerance who require 100% conversion, 10,000 FCC units per meal are recommended, which corresponds to two capsules.
Generally, 2,500 FCC units are needed to digest 10–13 grams of lactose.

What other ingredients are contained in the capsules besides the lactase enzyme, and is the product suitable for a vegetarian or vegan diet?

In addition to the lactase enzyme, the capsules contain microcrystalline cellulose or cellulose gel as a filler and bovine gelatin as the capsule shell. The capsule shell may also contain colorants such as titanium dioxide or iron oxides and hydroxides, as well as coating agents and acidity regulators. Due to the use of bovine gelatin, this product is not suitable for vegetarian or vegan diets.

When is the ideal time to take the capsules, and can regular use lead to a decrease in the body's own production of the lactase enzyme?

The ideal time to take Scitec Lactase Enzyme is immediately before consuming lactose-containing foods or drinks, as the enzyme needs to act directly on the ingested lactose in the gastrointestinal tract. Regular use of the product does not reduce the body's own production of the lactase enzyme, since the enzyme contained in the capsules merely supports the digestion of ingested food and has no effect on the biological activity or gene expression of the body's own lactase gene in the small intestine. The body's own lactase production is not inhibited or altered in the long term by the intake of exogenous enzymes.

How should the capsules be stored to optimally preserve the effectiveness of the lactase enzyme, and which environmental conditions should be strictly avoided?

The capsules should be stored in a cool, dry place. They must be protected from heat and direct sunlight to maintain the effectiveness of the lactase enzyme.
