To maintain its longevity, the belt should be regularly dusted with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Every three months, a sparing treatment with solvent-free leather balm or beeswax is recommended to keep the material supple and prevent cracking. If the belt gets wet, it must be dried slowly at room temperature; direct heat from radiators, hairdryers, or sunlight should be strictly avoided, as this will cause the leather to become porous. Only when completely dry can a protective leather conditioner be applied.
