Green and yellow wool hat: Authentic Viking hat

The best way to wash your wool hat is by hand in lukewarm water (max. 30°C) with a special wool detergent or mild baby shampoo. Soak the hat for a few minutes and gently knead it without rubbing or wringing. Rinse it thoroughly and gently squeeze out the excess water with a towel. To dry, lay the hat flat on a towel and gently pull it into shape, away from direct sunlight or radiators. Alternatively, you can machine wash it on a special wool cycle at a maximum of 30°C and a low spin speed (400–600 rpm), ideally in a laundry bag. Since wool has self-cleaning properties, simply airing it out in fresh air is often sufficient.

The combination of wool and authentic Viking design offers excellent warmth and durability. Wool is a natural insulator, consisting of up to 85% air, which optimally retains body heat and ensures the hat remains warm even when damp. Furthermore, the fiber is extremely robust, retains its shape, and has a natural self-cleaning function that repels dirt and odors, guaranteeing the hat's longevity with minimal maintenance for many years.

Hats made from 100% wool, like the green and yellow Viking hat, can feel scratchy depending on skin sensitivity, as regular sheep's wool has coarser fibers. For people with very sensitive skin, it is therefore recommended to wear a headband made of a softer material such as fleece or silk underneath, or to opt for a hat with a lining to minimize direct skin contact.
