Slavic temple rings were primarily made of bronze, silver, or silver-plated brass during the Middle Ages, and less frequently of gold or iron. Sizes varied from small rings with a diameter of about 2 cm to large examples over 5 cm, some of which were adorned with chain pendants. Archaeological finds reveal significant regional differences: while simple S-shaped rings and button earrings were common in northeastern Bavaria, more elaborate versions with delicate beads, capsules, or enamel decorations are often found in regions such as Russia and Moravia.
