Lambskins, such as the shoulder hide of the Northland sheep, are self-cleaning and dirt-repellent due to their natural lanolin content. To keep the wool shiny and the leather supple, regular shaking, airing in fresh (ideally slightly damp) air, and occasional brushing with a sheepskin brush are sufficient. Stains on the wool side can be carefully removed with warm water and wool detergent, while the leather should be protected from strong heat or direct sunlight to prevent it from becoming hard or brittle.
