Robust steel leg guards for reenactment & LARP

These leg guards are typically made of steel approximately 1 mm to 1.2 mm thick and are specifically designed for use in LARP and reenactment. They offer a good balance between authentic appearance and comfort, but are not suitable for heavy full-contact combat, which usually requires a material thickness of at least 2 mm.

To optimally protect the steel leg braces from rust, they should be wiped dry after use and regularly treated with a thin film of oil or special metal protective wax. They are traditionally attached to the leg using adjustable leather straps with buckles on the back, ensuring a secure and customized fit.

The greaves are generally not padded on the inside, so wearing padding is strongly recommended to avoid pressure points and chafing. The design of these greaves is based on late medieval plate armor (circa 14th to 15th centuries).

A pair of these leg braces weighs approximately 1100 g and has a total length of about 31 cm.
