In Norse mythology, the ravens Huginn (Thought) and Muninn (Memory) are Odin's faithful companions, flying daily across the world to bring him news. This constant flow of information keeps Odin informed of all events in the Nine Worlds, which is why he is also known as the Raven God (Hrafnáss). On the battlefield, the ravens also symbolize the connection between victory, death, and the afterlife, as they act as messengers between the divine and mortal realms.
