The kilt pin is made of high-quality, chrome-plated brass. Traditionally, it is attached to the top layer of fabric of the kilt front (the front skirt) on the right side, approximately 10 cm from the bottom edge and 5 cm from the side fringe. Its weight keeps the fabric in place, reliably preventing it from flapping or blowing in the wind. The pin should only be inserted through the top layer to avoid damaging the kilt.
