The design of the silver-plated hooks and knobs in this Lorica Hamata set is inspired by historical finds from Gallic and Roman culture. In particular, the practice of stylizing hooks in the form of snakes or other animals and decorating them with engravings and embossing has Celtic origins. A significant reference object for such decorations is the 1st-century BC statue of the Gallic warrior Guerrier de Vachères, housed in the Musée Calvet in Avignon. Furthermore, archaeological evidence for similar fittings can be found in artifacts in Germany, such as those in the Kalkriese Museum.
