Traditionally, drinks like beer, wine, or mead can be served in a genuine drinking horn. However, acidic liquids such as lemon juice or cola, as well as carbonated drinks, should be avoided, as the acid they contain can attack the organic material horn (keratin) or its inner seal, making it brittle. Hot drinks are also unsuitable, as high temperatures can dry out the natural material, cause cracks, and damage the protective lacquer layer.
