The design of the Solveig dress is based on archaeological finds from the 9th and 10th centuries (Early Middle Ages), such as those discovered in Birka and Haithabu. Characteristic features include the loose fit, long sleeves, and the use of gores (wedge-shaped panels) in the skirt to create fullness. The dress is made of sturdy cotton canvas and, according to the manufacturer's instructions, is machine washable.
